The Luxurious and Rustic – Historic Romantic Mountain Cabin – As seen on TV on Discover Oklahoma and in the Oklahoma Today Magazine
Ron and I restored this original cobblestone home from the early 1900’s – one of the oldest surviving structures in the area at over 100 years of age. We fulfilled our life-long dream of owning a historic mountain cabin.
The cabin is 700 square feet of sunny windows, and is decorated with western flair and romance – leather and lace – red, black and butter colors. It boasts the original rustic vaulted timber ceiling with cupola atop the copper metal roof. Hanging from the center is an antler chandelier. Antique fishing poles, skis, and horse collars adorn the walls. We have a private trail up Mt. Dunbar where you can enjoy vistas of the Wichita Mountains, Mt. Scott, Fort Sill, Medicine Park, all the lakes and dams, and the new Museum and Aquarium. Enjoy our charcoal grill and outdoor decks for great sunrises and sunsets!
The Cabin is quiet and secluded, being the last home on the street up the mountain, yet only 3 blocks from historic Medicine Park’s shops and restaurants! Guests can walk 3 blocks or drive to restaurants, Music Hall, Bath Lake, galleries, and the outdoor events! After a fun day of exploring the town, Wichita Mountain Wildlife refuge, Meers, Holy City, hiking, biking and photographing the buffalo and elk, come back and immerse yourself in our 2-person air-jet tub with its own fireplace, or steam in our travertine marble shower.
Relax in bed or on the love seat while enjoying our large (47″) TV, free secure Wi-fi, and the glow of the main fireplace. Turn on the ceiling fans, play tunes from your phone and dance across our bamboo wood floors with your Love till you drop!
Enjoy our library while you catch your breath. After a refreshing night in our luxurious king-size bed, enjoy our gourmet coffee bar. We have a complete kitchen- stainless steel and granite- with dishes, flatware, glassware, utensils, and microwave!
We also offer an optional Candlelit Silver-Service Breakfast which can be added to 9:00AM on your departure date. You can customize the menu, but we offer a basic menu of hot fluffy Belgium waffles, bacon, scrambled eggs with cheese, and orange juice for $65. Please let us know when you make your reservations.
Historically, this home served as the local church parsonage for many years. Legend states that liquor was stored in the secret room under its floors during prohibition.
